|seachild_elf||01:45 pm - Stupid! Stupid!|
This may give you a laugh since it is so stupid but I. Really. Needed. To. Rant.
So I read that the rules will be enforced on already existing art on Elfwood. "Fine", I think, "Good idea! I should use this opportunity to fix some borderline descriptions and redo some lousy scans." (On account of my scanner not coming with a manual and me never really finding the right balance between sharpness and small enough files in my first years on Elfwood. Still haven't entirely.)
So in effort to comply with the latest rules I rescan some of my work where the old scans in my gallery show paper wrinkles. Among them there's this drawing of gryphon which had it pretty bad. Seen I don't have or know my way around fancy or decent graphic programmes, getting the wrinkles out this took me a while. I had to do it all by hand so to speak. "But", I was thinking, "my gallery will have much better quality art afterwards so this is worth it."
So I happily upload my drawings only to find out my gryphon got rejected this morning. You see, I forgot this one little grey line at the bottom of the drawing.
I edited out a MASSIVE, distracting amount of wrinkles, I give my gryphon a wonderful squeaky-clean white background, the whole scan is even better than the previous one and I stumble over ONE TINY grey line?!
AAAARGH! This is so stupid! How could I miss it?!
Bye bye, squeaky-clean rejection-record... :(
And the worst thing is probably that my ticket got processed in less than 9 days, which was deliciously fast.
Current Mood: cranky

Bummer. At least you're beautifying your gallery, though. :)
If it makes you feel any better, a similar thing happened to me recently; I had a drawing that I'd already put in two other galleries, only to have it rejected on Elfwood because there was an tiny bit of scanner bed showing at the margin. I had completely missed it!
And of course, I felt three times as silly because I'd uploaded it to those other galleries as well.
You know, that does make me feel better. :) It's good to know I'm not the only one who messes up this way.
I feel your pain.
I've had that happen before, not on Elfwood but when I'd cleaned something up for Ellen Million Graphis Portrait Adoption. Luckily for me the one I'd sent first was just a preview so it could get approved and not the huge TIFF file that takes forever and a day to upload. I don't know what it is about those stupid lines that you somehow don't see until after you've sent it off somewhere. They always seem to be at an edge.
It's just one of those things, I suppose. The same happens with typos in stories, emails, comments - you're sure that the text is perfect and has no mistakes... and as soon as it's posted, somebody points out a glaring typo or grammar mistake. ;)
Yes! It always seems to be at the edges! Nassty edgess...
hey look i am posting a comment.
